OUR DESIGN APPROACH
Our studio strives to advance artificial intelligence through the intersections within abstraction, architecture, music, and art. We apply our research and emerging methods and technologies to create meaningful human experiences. Our research and design methods utilize artificial intelligence and computational design but are not limited to it.

The name Brunsvold comes from the Old Norse words brúnn, which means "brown", and voll, which means "meadow grassy field". "Brown meadow" is captured by our first principles.
FIRST PRINCIPLES
I
ORTUS EX MACHINA
'Emergence from machine' is the core principle of the studio. We know motion because we have experienced motion. We strive to carefully craft the emergent intelligence of nature by using AI and computational design as an instrument.
II
VERAQUE IN HORTO
'Empathy for the garden' including the humans that occupy the garden is an important aspect of our work. This is relevant to both the impact of the work on the planet and the storytelling of the organisms that occupy it.
III
MULTIPLICITATE
'Complexity' is an important aspect of our work. We use artificial intelligence and computational design to creatively employ stochastic processes.
IV
PERITUS MOTUS / MOTUS OBSERVATUS
At the core of design and human understanding are the principles of motion. 'Experienced Motion' and 'Observed Motion' build our understandings of form, music, etc. We reference these principles of motion as a driving forces for our works.
I. Directionality

II. Perturbation

III. Contours: Angularity, Curvature, Linearity

IV. Entropy

V. Integration
